Vinyl privacy fences are a great addition to your home, improving the value of your property while also providing extra privacy and security to you and your family. While wooden fences are a traditional option, consider the added benefits of going with vinyl for your privacy fence. Primarily, they provide increased durability. Vinyl fences are built to stand up to the test of time, and won’t deteriorate or need replaced nearly as quickly as a wooden fence. Your vinyl privacy fence is built to last for upwards of 5 decades, possibly even longer with proper maintenance!
However, vinyl fencing is a serious investment, so you want to be sure you hire the professionals who can get it done right. At Dan’s Fencing, we believe that quality and durability are the most important factors in any new fence installation. That’s we take extra care to get your fence built and installed with superior longevity in mind.
What’s the difference?
You may be wondering what the difference is between PVC fencing and cinyl fencing? There’s actually no difference between the two, and you can use either term interchangeably. Polyvinyl chloride, or PVC, is what vinyl fencing is made of. And while you may commonly hear it referred to as vinyl, don’t panic is someone mentions PVC! It’s the same exact thing.
There are many key steps in the installation process that ensure your vinyl fence will last for years to come. And while cutting corners can save you money, in the long run it’s in your best interest to take the necessary extra steps to preserve your fence and your investment.
For one, there are two sizes of vinyl fencing sections. 8-foot sections tend to be cheaper, but the added length makes them liable to start drooping, creating an eyesore and diminishing the functionality of a privacy fence. That’s why at Dan’s Fencing, we use the shorter 6-foot sections, improving the overall durability of your fence.
Additionally, we will go the extra mile and use concrete in every single post, as opposed to just the gate posts which is a more common practice. This is a critical step, especially in Florida where winds and weather can wreak havoc on your vinyl fencing. Keeping the entire fence anchored securely in the ground will prevent damage from heavy winds. Without securing each post, the vinyl can start to lean and break under the pressure of Florida’s high winds and hurricane weather.
To top it off, the gate posts will be entirely filled with concrete to prevent them from leaning, tipping, and drooping. The gate should function properly for the entire lifespan of the fence, and securing the gate posts properly will keep the gate swinging as intended.
